-Although Kepert did not increase her margin of victory from the last elections she has been a consistent 8-10 point winner in the 4th council district. People (for now) do not seem concerned about her time split between teaching and the town council. Whomever runs against her next should take note of this and concentrate on other things. I do not agree with Ms. Kepert philisophically however I do see the need to expand the poltical talent pool from the lawyer crowd. Cunha is not a lawyer however if Kepert was splitting time between a law practice and the town race - I think he would have fared better. It would be nice to see more teachers, nurses, electricians, etc.. run for office. Especially Republican ones.
-Joe May was a significant factor in the 6th. The (I) line garnered 703 votes which could have swung the election the other way. Third parties are significant in local elections and especially here on Long Island and I think that is a good thing.
-I think Suozzi was caught sleeping at the wheel in Nassau. Suozzi was saving money for something bigger and almost lost (and might still).
-I think Beendenbender was napping next to Suozzi. Muratore ran a great campaign that came down to knocking on doors. Muratore had a network of supporters that met every weekend and went out knocking on doors. This is how Beendenbender won his last election. Its how Levy taught him. His opponent ran a better campaign and won.
-The jury is still out on P64's lawn sign theory however Jack beat Dean by 4 points. I still think Dean (we can all agree) ran a great campaign.
-Apparently the voters of Islip were really pissed off at the people who were managing the town who happen to be Democrats. If you don't think grass roots organizations like the CSA were a factor than go ask Chris Bodkin.
-I only walked for two candidates: Muratore and Bonner - both of which won their races. That and $2.75 will get you a tall bold red eye at Starbucks.
-I only made one prediction as far as points goes and I was right. Bonner beat Leonard by double digits (10 points). The negative mailings were not only ineffective but counterproductive. Leonard had more lawn signs than Bonner.
-Rouse beat Caracappa by 8 points. The negative mailings here were a factor. The lack of a denial by Caracappa was too loud for voters to ignore.
-I was thinking about Bob Olson and ISOM when News 12 asked every party leader why they cross endorse and don't at least put someone else up in the county DA, clerk and Sheriff offices.
-Not enough young people vote. Not enough young people have an idea what is going on in politics and how it will affect them later in life. Whether you support the Republican, Democratic or third party - that is frankly a shame.

- Cacacrapola- (that's one
big kid, don't ya think?), he needs to learn how to read a union contract and stop pacing the stage like Jackie Gleason on the Honeymooners before he
even thinks about "running" for anything again.
