against Pat Biancanello. Biancanello said the other day that people should start calling her Madam Supervisor-Elect. She'll now be known as Madam
Former-Councilwoman!
In a huge upset, Glen Jorgensen destroyed incumbent Dan Ryan by 20% of the vote. Glen ran an amazing campaign and he should be proud. I expect good things out of him.
In the Smithtown Council race, first-time candidate Kevin Malloy took the top spot with 31% of the vote, followed closely by incumbent Tom McCarthy with 30%. The democratic candidates didn't even make a showing with neither Mark Mancini nor Craig Tortora breaking the 20% mark.
On the County level, both republican incumbents John M. Kennedy, Jr.and Lynne Nowick won their respective races in the 12th and 13th LDs with the highest percentage difference out of all County Legislature races. Kennedy won the 12th with 75% of the vote and Lynne won the 13th with 74% of the vote.
This is a great day for all republicans in the Town of Smithtown. I expect great things from all of the great candidate who were elected tonight.
