Brookhaven Second Council District is now getting Red Hot!!! Leonard has three lines! |
Lead | |
|
I have noted that John Leonard has the Democratic, IP and WFP lines, Bonner has the Conservative Line and is receiving a very serious primary challenge for the
Republican line. My sources have reported Leonard aggressively gathering signatures and meeting voters door to door and getting a very positive response from
all he meets! Leonard runs in a district in which Lori Baldassari gave incumbent McGarrick not one but two strong five point margin challenges and that Bonner
had a single digit win against a weaker Democratic challenger in 2007! This district will be real interesting between now and November!

Leonard has been in Rocky Point, Shoreham, Sound Beach and Coram this week. He is blanketing the district and working hard. I've heard he is getting a
ton of positive feedback and people are telling him they just can't deal with the Bonner drama anymore.
Yes, I am a supporter of John's so you can all jump on me if you want, but the fact is he is a smart guy who really likes working in his community. And it shows. Plus he is actually a nice guy, and that will go a long way in this race. People who meet him are impressed with his knowledge of the issues and demeanor. This race is going to be very interesting. I think John is still the underdog, but he has the best shot yet for a Dem to take this district. And don't ignore the mess she is dealing with. Her campaign is not at all organized, she is dealing with a serious challenge for the R line and has a number of groups organized to throw her out. |

If Bonner losses the Republican line and is left on the Conservative line
|
Then John Leonard will have three lines with each opponent on jst one and I would say a new councilman is in the works for district 2! Glad to read the
confirmation on all the communities that John has visited and the hard work Leonard is putting into this important district!

If she is going to keep being lazy and "run on her record" then she is in trouble. Her campaign is under assault from Republicans. Former supporters are jumping ship at an alarming pace, and she keeps turning people off with her attitude and policies. You can keep your blinders on and make up silly rain stories (which are just ridiculous) but this is a real race and Jane is in trouble.... |

Roxanne wrote:Roxanne, Far from underestimating ANYONE in a political campaign, "if" ANYONE was NOT aggressive, as Councilwoman Bonner may be, at this point, they deserve to lose. In making my comment, I was calling to our attention, Mr. Leonard's apparent, foible, about not going out in the rain...which I find interesting, actually. Unfortunately, it's a little early to have this decided, and Mr. Leonard be a "shoe in"...and I don't care how many "lines" they have. Frankly, these upcoming elections, may show that people are REALLY interested in their elected officials, even on this low level, of the political spectrum. They will read those lines, and react OPPOSITE to the traditional apathy. I see our national political scene, with the Economy and everything "changing", bringing the People, more interested in "who" they pick, and NOT on traditional party lines. As we all know, things happen, and some of them, are things, over which no one has control, and it could "tip" this in the other direction. Perhaps, we don't know everything about this election, at this point, than the candidates do. It does, look like it will be a contentious election in this district. Time wounds all heals, as the saying goes. Getting all excited about "leads", this early in the process, is miss.....leading. |

All the early indicators are clear!
|
A united three party effort behind John Leonard who is very actively working hard and a divided GOP and Conservative Party situation and a low profile
incumbent that creates a formula of defeat for the Republican council efforts in this important district!

LONG TERM Incumbents of ALL parties, especially the long term "LEGACY POLS", will be looking for new employment, and rushing for the K Street lobby firms ! The architect of this backlash, are the excessive spending and taxing programs of our President, and HIS political party, AND his unbridled imposition of the political philosophy of Progressiveism. The collective conscience of the Voters, is being underestimated. THEY ARE NOT SHEEP, and being treated like them, again, by both parties, will have disastorous repurcusions. WHY ? Because of the "universal" excessive spending, that's, literally, changing people's lives, for the worse. It's going to throwback "Liberalism", the Democratic Party, and Progressiveism, into the dumper for a long time. This is not say, we will be "better" for it; it's saying that, excessive Spending and Taxing, in the name of Change, the TEAM OBAMA Way, is repressive. The overextension of Government, into the POCKETS of the Public, and the naked display of disfranchisement of Voters, by the Democratic Party in Congress, will force Voters into ANY open arms, if those arms, will deliver them from HIGH COSTS AND TAXES. |

Not really sincere michaelaw, the reason you predict is because the success of the WFP is killing you!
|
If the WFP had no success but the Conservative Party were having wonderful success endorsing Republicans you would be as delighted as can be! Intellectual
honesty has it merits. does it not michael?

I saw Leonard today at the PJ 4th of July parade. He introduced himself and we chatted a bit. He was there, working the parade.....I waited & waited, but
Bonner never came by to introduce herself and chat a bit......I guess maybe it was the nice sunny day that kept Bonner inside?!?
