just a correction to la Verite, "the Republicans took over the Islip Board" WRONG! They took over nothing anywhere on the County and West End Towns. They gained one seat on the Islip Board giving them a two seat minority.

Guys, the party doesn't matter - what's important to me is intelligence, integrity, responsiveness and work ethic. Sadly, I think these traits are sorely lacking in the majority of our public officials across the board.
Perhaps when we start to collectively demand demonstration of these traits and values we will find candidates who will rise to the challenge.

Nobody here seems to recognize that the voting demographics in districts like Beedenbenders' still sit heavily Republican. I personally believe the absence of a vocal Steve Levy support, and a smaller GOTV effort in Beedenbender's district lead directly to the still contested Muratore win.
