MAYOKA BEATS OUT BESEN FOR TOWN BOARD IN HUNTINGTON

Republican Mark Mayoka beat out Democrat incumbent Stuart Besen for the town board seat. Republican backed Independence Party Eugene Cook almost edged out Dem Mark Cuthbertson for the other seat. It's still a long way to go but at least the Democrat machine in Huntington is starting to crack.

Smithtown is once again in complete control of the Republicans. I just returned from the Smithtown GOP headquarters and Vecchio retained his seat convincingly against Pat Biancanello. Biancanello said the other day that people should start calling her Madam Supervisor-Elect. She'll now be known as Madam Former-Councilwoman!

In what may be another buy out by the Petrone liberal Dems, Huntington Conservative leader Frank Tinari has decided to back Republican Peter Nichols for town supervisor. The Huntington Republican Committe backed Bill Dowler for supervisor.

Just a few hours ago another shooting took place in Huntington Station. It happened at the corner of 2nd ave and w. 11th st. At least one person was rushed to the hospital.
Government and police have been extra quiet but word has spread this could be the work of MS13. A gang mostly of illegal aliens.

Another shooting in Huntington Station. Two males no description seriously wounded but not critically. They were shot after getting into an altercation with two other men. No description. This happened earlier in the week with little or no media coverage about it or news from SCPD website.
The location of the shooting was a stone's throw away from the town's day labor site.

Looks like there is a sizable coalition of people and groups getting together to push for councilmanic districts in Huntington. It's about time. All they have now in Huntington is a bloated government bureaucracy that is a 5-0 town board. Several town board members have been able to make themselves multi-millionaires from working at town hall. Salaries keep getting higher while they still only go to work two days a month except for the supervisor.
