What do you think about Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri collecting his pension, working as the Mayor of Patchogue, and working as the deputy supervisor for economic development under Supervisor Lesko? Word has it that Pontieri was offered the dep sup position so that he would not primary Lesko. Like he could really pull that off. Then he postured that he was going to run for the assembly seat. For all the cow towing that Pontieri does, one wishes he would fulfill all of his promises to that...

What a surprise! Just as I stated many times in the past, the illegals are going to one of their "store front" churches even though we have two Catholic Churches in our town right across from one another. With all the support the Catholic Church gives to illegal aliens in total disregarding the law, they are now getting a well-deserved a kick in the teeth from them and I am glad.

I guess they thought they would be the ones to fill their coffers but as it stand, they are...

I attended the meeting of the Farmingville Resident's Assoc. on Tues. and they hosted the Sustainable Long Island Group which has been hired by the town to spruce up Farmingville. There were about 40 people in attendance and many questions were asked. One question seemed to stump everyone in that there are parcels of land designated for improvement in our town but nobody knows who the corporations are that have made a bid on the parcels or who owns the parcels and what if anything will...

I just passed the Holtsville Holiday Roundabout Light Display. After about four years, finally there is a big sign that says "Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night!"

Also it looks like it has many new or all new displays and it is always quite nice to go round in your car when the lights are on. My grandkids love it!

Anybody have any ideas who the new majority (counting Walsh as a Democrat) might be replacing? The rumor I'm hearing is the town attorney and public info are gonna be gone. Maybe parks? Who are some of the candidates to replace them?

Hear from a good source that Jesse Garcia is stepping down. Word on the street is that JJ LaValle has some mixed feelings about Garcia stepping down at this time but is going to push for Betty Manzella to take over.

Anyone else hearing this? Interesting times at the Brookhaven Repubs!

OK, Governor Paterson may call for a special election for Eddingtons seat once she vacates it in January. Time to start a discussion as who will be the Party choice of the Dems and Reps as well as the Indys and Conservatives.

Who will best represent this district. Time to start tossing around some names. Don't forget, who ever wins the special election, must run again that November 2010.

We can be generous in victory and to L. Dean Murray goes a tip of my hat. I complimented Dean on his managing of Egan's race two years ago in which he did a great job and I again compliment his narrow loss this year. Politics is about challenging incumbents and thus speaking truth to power and while I can not support Dean as a candidate simply based on our ideological differences I can praise him as a person and human being with a heartfelt desire to public service!

Following on the heels of his upset win in a heavily Republican seat in 2007 and losing by the narrowest of all margins in 2009 during a huge Republican turnout, Brian Beedenbender would be a great choice to run for Pat Eddington's vacated assembly seat this winter! The Republicans in a district more dominated by the 7th LD rather than the 4th LD would likely run Egan or Murray for the open seat. Brian already has strong name recognition in the areas of the 4th that are in the 3rd AD and...

union hiearchy prevented highway unit members from voting on endorsment for highway superintendent.fact bill walsh local president illegally blocked motion that was put on the floor of the units last meeting.what happened to the american right to choose lets ask olive.

I can't help but wonder what kind of "union president" will allow a case to go all the way to PERB when issues about subcontractors are already clearly contractually stated. As "president"- can he read a contract clearly, or NOT? This is how their union dues are spent? I'd hate to see where he'd let the public dollars go to if he CAN NOT CLEARLY READ A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT!
